Debt Has Taken Enough From You.

A PATH FORWARD

It's time to regain your peace of mind. If creditors are calling, you’ve been sued, or you simply can’t keep up with your payments, you don’t have to sort through it alone. Geurts Law Firm helps people in California and Nevada understand their bankruptcy options and decide what to do next.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone

A fresh start can begin with a conversation. When the bills keep coming and a creditor may be taking you to court, even making that call can feel hard. You don’t need to know whether Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 is right for you. Tell us what’s happening, and we’ll help you understand what options may be available.

Step 1:
Tell Us What’s Happening

Call us or fill out the form. Tell us what you’re dealing with, whether you can’t keep up with payments, creditors are calling, or you’ve been sued. We’ll schedule a free consultation.

Step 2:
Get Clear Answers

We’ll listen, ask about your finances and the debts causing concern, and explain how Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 might apply to your situation. You’ll have a chance to ask the questions that have been weighing on you.

Step 3:
Decide What Comes Next

We’ll explain the options we identify, what the next steps could involve, and the fees for your case. Then you can decide how you want to move forward.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

When the bills keep piling up, it’s hard to know what to do first. You can talk with us if:

  • You can’t keep up with credit cards, medical bills, or other debts.

  • Creditors or collection agencies keep calling.

  • You’ve been sued over a debt.

  • You’re worried about wage garnishment or losing your home.

  • You’re wondering whether Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 could help.

Phillip Geurts helps clients in California, and Brandon McDonald helps clients in Nevada. Tell us what’s happening during a free consultation, and we’ll help you understand your options.

What Could Bankruptcy Change?

Collection Activity May Pause

Filing a bankruptcy case generally triggers the automatic stay, a legal protection that pauses most collection lawsuits, wage garnishments, and other collection efforts. There are exceptions, and the protection begins when a case is filed, not when you request a consultation.

Some Debts May Be Discharged

A bankruptcy discharge can eliminate personal responsibility for certain debts. Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 work differently, and some debts cannot be discharged. We can review what you owe and explain which options may be available to you.
